Karpathos, like all the other islands in the Dodecanese, is known for its folklore events, the fairs which vary in each village of Karpathos. Each year Karpathos becomes the centre of attraction for all tourists visiting the island, as they have the opportunity to enjoy traditional music with instruments like the lyre, the laouto and the tsambouna, the dances of the natives and the feasts in the villages’ traditional coffee shops to honour and celebrate in the name of some Saint.
